4-15-15 A Quiet Spirit
I was just thinking about how often an unsettled spirit prevails in my thoughts. An unrest, a turbulence that doesn't seem to have a reason. At those times, there is an overwhelming lack of fulfillment, and goals seem to be blurred.
Then the apostle Paul's admonition to the Corinthian church in 2 Corinthians 10:5 comes to my mind, simply that I bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. As God brings Scripture to mind, the awesome washing of God's peace floods over my soul as I know, understand and apply that which God has taught me.
Some of the passages are:
Psalm 62:5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from Him.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus
concerning you.
Psalm 94:19 in the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart,
and lean not to thine own understanding;
In all thy ways acknowledge Him,
and He shall direct thy paths.
Jeremiah 29:11 I know the thoughts I think toward you,
saith the Lord,
thoughts of peace, not of evil,
to bring you to an expected end.
May God help you today as you apply His Word to your own thoughts.
